On Saturday July 21st the
members of India's Eagles the 4th Indian Division re-enactors will be doing a
sponsored Climb of Helvellyn in the Lake District (1000mtrs = 3,300 feet) in
Honour of the men of the 1st battalion of the 9th Gurkha Regiment and the men
of various Regiments of 4th Indian Division who kept them supplied.
We Will be Climbing Helvellyn
in period uniforms carrying ammunition boxes just as the men did for those 16
days in March 1944. This will be a sponsored climb with all money raised being
donated to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which takes care of veterans and their
families in Nepal. Please click the logo above to learn more of the work the
